Silver Spur

A historic high-grade silver asset with multiple pathways for redevelopment

Silver Spur is one of the cornerstone assets within the Silver Star Resources portfolio. Situated in a proven mining district with more than a century of production and exploration history, the asset is known for its high-grade silver, lead and zinc mineralisation and continues to hold an important place within the broader Texas project. Its significance today lies in both the historical mine and the nearby slag deposit, which creates an additional opportunity for future recovery and assessment.

Together, these elements position Silver Spur as an asset that combines historical credibility with clear redevelopment potential.

Mining History

A legacy dating back to the 1890s

The Silver Spur lode outcrops were discovered in 1890, with first official recognition by the Mineral Lands Commissioner in 1891, marking the beginning of formal mining activity in the area and establishing Silver Spur as part of a genuine producing district.

The mine historically produced 2.19 million ounces of silver at an average grade of 800 g/t Ag from approximately 100,000 tonnes of ore, together with zinc, lead, copper, and by-product gold. More recently, Macmin Silver Ltd identified a JORC-compliant multi-million-ounce silver-equivalent resource in 2004, further underscoring the enduring geological potential of the district.

Silver Spur Slag Deposit

A valuable processing opportunity

Located just over one kilometre east of Twin Hills, the Silver Spur slag deposit consists of approximately 95,000 tonnes of silver-rich material that has remained on the Mining Lease for decades. The current page states that recent geological assessments indicate more than 4 million ounces of silver equivalent within this material.

Silver Star Resources has secured full ownership and possession of the slag, which is highly significant for the project. This gives the Company direct control over a substantial above-ground material source that will support future recovery opportunities, adding a distinct and valuable development pathway alongside the historical material above ground.

Drilling and Growth Potential

Encouraging continuity across the target area

Previous drilling has demonstrated encouraging silver grades across 330 metres of strike, reinforcing the continuity of mineralisation at Silver Spur and providing a strong foundation for further evaluation. These results support the view that additional technical work may help better define the scale and extent of the system, while also advancing understanding of its broader development potential.

This positions Silver Spur as more than a historically significant asset. It remains an important part of the wider project, with the potential to contribute meaningfully to future growth as technical work continues.

Strategic Importance

A meaningful part of the wider project

Silver Spur brings together several important project attributes in one asset: historical production, recognised high-grade mineralisation, a nearby slag deposit, and encouraging drilling results.

Within the wider Silver Star Resources portfolio, it represents a blend of mining heritage and practical development potential.
